Members who attended our Monthly Gathering on May 7 learned about LUSH Valley’s programs and services from its Operations Director, Arzeena Hamir.
Arzeena explained how LUSH ("Let Us Share the Harvest") helps people in the Comox Valley to gain local food systems skills, knowledge and access to good food by offering:
- Fruit Tree & Farm Gleaning
- Good Food Box
- Hot Meal Program
- Catering
- Healthy Student Meal Program
- Urban Agriculture
- Young Cooks & Community Kitchens
There are many opportunities for Comox Valley residents to get involved and support LUSH, including ordering a Good Food Box, eating at LUSH Café (Tyee Hall at NIC), or signing up for their newsletter.
LUSH has created a Facebook page, “Grow food everywhere Comox Valley.” It’s a public group where Comox Valley residents may engage in food-growing discussions, share resources and be inspired.
