Everyone who attended our March 5 Monthly Gathering heard interesting 1920s circus stories from our speaker, Kim Bannerman.
Kim talked about the circus acts, musical bands, and sparkling personalities that inspired the characters in her “Circus Salmagundi” mystery series. Kim read an excerpt from one of her books: "The Vengeful Dead." Her novels are based on a real travelling animal show which operated between 1916 and 1925, providing entertainment to remote coastal villages around the Salish Sea.

2026/2027 Management Committee Nominations
Jennifer announced the start of the nominations process for the 2026/2027 Management Committee. Members are asked to consider running for a Management Committee position in our volunteer-run club.
Candidates are required for 6 Management Committee positions:
1. President
2. Technology Director
3. Facilities Director
These 3 positions already have nominees. Additional nominations are welcome.

Gord Tarzwell described his role and responsibilities as Activities Director, as well as how he has personally benefited from his experience in volunteering on the Management Committee.
PRISMA
Jennifer also announced that this year’s PRISMA (Pacific Region International Summer Music Association) concert in Powell River will be held on Saturday, June 20. An email will be sent to the membership with details on purchasing tickets for this one-day trip package.
